Well, I’m sure there are plenty of people who don’t care about a good entryway, but I’m not one those people..I certainly don’t not love a good Fall entryway.. Know what I mean?.

I had this idea to replace the glass on our mudroom porch light with a mason jar, and it must have been a good one because within about five minutes, Chris had it done for me.All it took was a little clear hockey tape for stickyness and a few longer screws.. And what’s that just beyond the light you see?Is that the makings of a super awesome Fall front door scheme thingy?.

More on that soon…Right now I have myself a big ol’ case of the next-year-I’ll-do-betters.Inside, at our house, there’s pretty much nothing that indicates the pre-fall-ness of the season.

Or the the Summeryness of the season either for that matter.. OK, we’ve only been in this house for a month and two days, so I’ll cut myself some slack on that one.. Outside on the property though, there are so many things happening that we had nothing to do with, that really indicate the season and give us a sense of a place in time..

I took a little stroll around yesterday to try to capture the last few bits of August before September takes over tomorrow.. An old doorway behind the barn.I’m sure that I like all these cafe curtains that I’ve been seeing around.

I’m sure that I like the idea behind mine and I think it was fun to totally cheat my way through making them.. I’m not sure that I like these particular ones in this particular front hall application, though..I started with one of my Walmart flour sack dish towels, and drew a really simple window pane plaid on it in Sharpie.. Then I cut it to size and hot glued the top to make room for the “curtain rod”….

…Which was actually a bamboo garden stake that I grabbed out of the mud room.I hot glued the whole mess up on the window frame just to see how it would look.
